silk care

The general rule for silk care is to treat the silks as you would treat your hair.

No harsh detergents, no hot water and hang dry in the shade as too much sun drying will prematurely age your silk.

The veils may be spot washed with a cool damp washcloth if you get food or lipstick on them. It is not recommended that the entire veil be submerged in water because they are difficult to dry without producing more wrinkles in the silk.

You can freshen your veil by placing it on low heat in a dryer with a fabric softener sheet or static guard sheet.

Hot irons and high heat dryers are not recommended.
It is safe to spray static guard on the silks to avoid clinging.

Padded hangers work best but remember the veils would much prefer to dance with you than to hang in the closet. Like any other delicate fabric or garment, take good care of your silk and it will last a long time.

Because the silk is so light, it may wrinkle easy. The best way to prevent this is to hang them long or you can save your Christmas wrapping paper rolls and roll your veils around them like posters.
